The world of mobile gaming is once again filled with big news coming directly from the realm of global corporations. ByteDancea giant technology company from China which is also known as the parent company TikTokhave officially agreed to the sale Moonton Technology behind Mobile Legends: Bang Bang to Smart Gaming Groupgaming company owned by Saudi Arabia, with a transaction value that exceeds the figure US$6 billion.
This news certainly surprised many people, especially Southeast Asian gamers who have been faithfully playing Mobile Legends for years as one of the most dominant mobile MOBAs in this region.
Why Did ByteDance Release Moonton?
The first question that definitely arises in many people’s minds is why would ByteDance want to sell an asset of this size?
The answer lies in a massive shift in ByteDance’s business strategy. In recent years, ByteDance has been transforming into a company based artificial intelligence (AI). Their focus is now focused on developing generative AI technology, AI-based advertising platforms, and enterprise services which are considered more profitable and have more strategic long-term prospects.
This move to sell Moonton is not the first. Previously, ByteDance had already sold several other gaming units, including two units acquired by Tencent. This confirms that the gaming industry is no longer ByteDance’s main priority in the future.

By acquiring Moonton, Savvy Games Group gets direct access to one of the most powerful mobile game IPs in Asia Mobile Legends: Bang Bang along with the entire esports infrastructure and gamer community that is already very large throughout the world, especially Southeast Asia.
Then, what is the fate of Mobile Legends?
This is what loyal MLBB players ask most. The good news, based on information circulating, Moonton will remain based in Shanghaiand the current CEO and management team will be retained post-acquisition.
This means, in the short term, you don’t need to worry about drastic changes to ongoing Mobile Legends gameplay, events or tournaments. Servers, updates and competition schedules will most likely continue as usual.
However, in the medium to long term, the influx of large capital from Saudi Arabia has the potential to have positive impacts, such as:
- Esports investment is biggerexpansion of MLBB leagues and tournaments to new markets outside Southeast Asia.
- More aggressive content developmentnew IP collaboration, new heroes, and more massive global events.
- Wider gaming ecosystemintegration with fast-growing Saudi gaming initiatives.
For gamers and the local esports community, this is a moment worth paying attention to. Whoever the owner is, the most important thing is that the MLBB ecosystem is maintained and continues to develop for the next generation of gamers.
PakarPBN
A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.
In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.
The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
